BJP Urban Local Body Cell holds meeting

Jammu, June 13, (Scoop News)-The Urban Local Body Cell of BJP Jammu & Kashmir under the leadership of its state convenor Deepak Gupta held a meeting at party head office, Trikuta Nagar. The meeting was also attended by state incharge of All Cells of BJP, Varinderjit Singh, State Press Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, State Incharge Refugee Cell Pt. Ashok Khajuria, H. S. Pammi and Malvinder Singh (Shanty).
Meeting saw threadbare discussions on various issues related to Urban Local Bodies and their functioning in the state.
Deepak Gupta while addressing the meeting pointed out that the Jammu City has extended many times in the recent decades owing to the continuous influx of people from all across the state as well as other parts of the Nation. He said that whereas the natives of Jammu region have welcomed all with open arms but this has resulted into the difference between the demand and need of the circle.
Gupta stressed that in the last many meetings, the Cell resolved to work for the extension of Municipal limits so that the development can be augmented in the region. He further congratulated all while showing satisfaction for the recent announcement related to the extension of Municipality limits. He said that the demand to extend the Municipality limits was a long pending and genuine demand of the local population.
Varinderjit Singh said that while this step will surely help in raising the infrastructure and other necessary facilities in the region, there is further need to include certain more areas into the list to ensure their development so that the people can be benefited with certain projects like “Smart City” and other facilities. The body demanded that Old Satwari, Chattha Panchayat, Raipur Satwari, Belicharana, Barjala, Rohi etc.
The meeting further decided to press for the early conduct of Municipal elections in the state, so that the common public could be benefited by the allocation of administration at the ground level. This will enable the public to get their works easily done without much hassle.
