| Congress Core Group on Kashmir visiting Leh on Monday | | meeting over a score of delegations, to elicit suggestions in restoring peace in state |
Leh(Ladakh), July 7, (Scoop News)-Congress Core Group on Jammu and Kashmir comprising former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, Dr Karan Singh, Ghulam Nabi Azad. P Chidambaram and Ambika Soni are likely to visit Leh on Monday.
In this regard, District Congress Committee (DCC) on Friday held a meeting with various leaders including religious, social and political besides intellectuals and academicians and discussed important issues pertaining to the region.
DCC president, Tsering Samphel, lawmakers from Leh and Nubra, Nawang Rigzin Jora and Delden Namgyal respectively besides Narboo Gailchen, a former lawmaker, representatives from Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), former executive councillors and others participated in the meeting.
Over a score of delegations are expected to call on the visiting team and discuss all issues including grant of Union Territory (UT) status to the region. The team will also call forth suggestions and proposals in restoring peace in the state.
Earlier, the team had visited Jammu and Kashmir provinces where dozens of delegations called on them.
