CEC Kargil lays foundation of bridge at Markalacay Phosthang
Kargil, July 10, (Scoop News)- Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali than today laid the foundation stone of lx37meters span Motorable Bridge at Markalacay Phosathang over aver Sindh.
The bridge was sanctioned under NABARD at an estimated cost of Rs 5.45 crore and the construction is to be completed within a period of two years.
Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali, Executive Councillor for Power Advocate Muhammad Amu and number of people were present on the occasion.
The CEC directed the concerned executing agencies to start the construction work on the project immediately and complete the same within the stipulated time frame. He also asked them to stick to the judicious use of funds and use of standard material.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEC said that several developmental projects have been sanctioned under different sectors in Kargil district and the construction work on these projects is apace and once completed these projects will change the socio-economic conditions of the area especially those living in far-flung areas of the district.
Chairman, Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali while highlighting the achievements registered during last three years said that various initiatives have been taken to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people especially weaker sections of the society.
Earlier, the CEC and Chairman visited Government Higher Secondary School, Silmoo and get first-hand appraisal of the problems being faced by the staff and the students. The Management of the Institute apprised them about the manpower shortage especially in teaching line, providing of transport facilities and speedy construction of Hostel.
The CEC and Chairman gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into.
Later, Kachoo Ahmad and Haji Anayat visited various areas including Sanjak village in Sharkar Chiktan block and get first-hand appraisal of the problems and grievances of the people living in these areas.
Various deputations met the CEC and Chairman LC and projected several demands confronting them.
