NAJ calls for a united front of journalists on common demands


New Delhi, July 10, (Scoop News)-The National Alliance of Journalists (NAJ)(Regd.) has called upon its members, to rally in unison for a two fold alliance with professional journalists from the wide spectrum media , including the broadcast and social media and other unions aligning with it in a federative spirit . A six member steering committee has been constituted, with the NAJ and DUJ President SK Pande as convener and G. Anjaneyulu , M. Koteswara Rao and Sujata Madhok as co-conveners .


The broad contours of an action plan would be discussed at a working committee meeting in Delhi to be held this month.

An action plan for a new wage board, for the wide spectrum media, field report on non-implementation of the previous award, demand for risk insurance cover and pension scheme for journalists and press workers and the demands of freelance journalists and moffusil correspondents among others would also be discussed. So far representatives from over a dozen states have given their consent for the plenary session.
The plenary NAJ session is slated to be held in Hyderabad by August. It may be recalled that the first working committee meeting and extended innovation of NAJ meeting was held in Delhi on 10 December, 2017.
