JKFA organizes 3-days Football Referring Refresher Course

Leh, September 12 (Scoop News)- A 3-days Football Referring Refresher Course organized by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association(JKFA) in collaboration with District Youth Services and Sports Department Leh begins today at EJM College Leh. About 50 Physical Education Masters/Teachers of Leh district are taking part in the three days course.
The Councilor Lower Leh Leh Wangdan Shunu was chief guest of the inaugural function. Other present on the occasion were Principal EJM Leh Deskyong Namgyal and Distt. Youth Services and Sports Officer, Leh Tsering Tashi.
Addressing the inaugural function, Councilor Lower Leh Wangdan Shunu appreciated Jammu and Kashmir Football Association for organizing this vital course at Leh and hoped that such training will go a long way in producing good number of quality football referees thus promoting football in Leh. He urged upon the participating PET to take maximum benefit from the national level instructor referee Nazir Ahmad.
Wangdan remembered Late CEC, Dr. Sonam Dawa Lonpo who was a lover of football and had a vision to promote football in Leh. He said that at present under the leadership of EC Sports Gyal Wangyal, LAHDC, Leh taking some very good stapes to promote sports in Leh.
The Instructor Referee of All India Football Federation (AIFF) Nazir Ahmad who is the only national level referee from J&K State briefing about the three days course said that the main purpose for conducting this course in Leh is to create an environment of football game in Leh saying that football is already a favorite and number one sports in the J&K State. He said that during the three days course the trainee teachers will be given practical demonstration about football referring on playfield. A film on football referring was also shown to the trainee teachers and they were also awared about the 17 rules/laws of football game in detail.
Nazir Ahmad said that State Football Association (SFA) in association with J&K State Sport Council has already started basic football training courses in Leh since last year. To promote football in Leh, SFA indents to conduct exhibition matches and indoor football for children in coming months.
