Killing of three Pak terrorists exposes vulnerability of fencing along IB
collusion between guides and truckers


Jajjar Kotlii, September 14, (Scoop News)-Three armed terrorists who were gunned down on Thursday by the security forces after a gunfight at village Dhirti near Kakryal in district Reasi had culminated after over 30 hours operations. At least 12 security personnel were injured. The condition of all of them barring one is stated to be stable.
The security forces came to know about their presence when the villagers informed them. The terrorists had paid rupees 2,000 to a family to purchase some edibles from the nearby market.
The joint security operations which had commenced on Wednesday morning culminated on Thursday evening after all the three terrorists were eliminated. They belonged to Pakistan and had crossed over the International Border (IB) between Bobiyan and Samba in Samba district, a day earlier.
A day earlier, on Wednesday at 8 pm three gun wielding terrorists had barged into the house of Ishar Dass Khajuria, they seized mobile phones of all family members and asked them to arrange a vehicle so that they could travel to Kashmir.
The trio had told their host that they had come from Pakistan and it had taken couple of days for them to reach here. They informed the family that they had not eaten anything for past three days. However, they refused to eat cooked meals by the family. Dass, instead offered them some biscuits and apples.
After eating some biscuits and apples the trio asked their host to arrange a vehicle so that they could travel to Kashmir. He informed them that the village is away from the National Highway therefore arranging a vehicle was impossible. They even asked for location of a mosque in the nearby area.
After nearly two hours, they left the house and wanted someone to escort them to which the family resisted. The trio went into the nearby woods and disappeared thereafter.
Although the family was not harmed but they continued to be in a state of shock, they locked their own house and went to a neighbour’s house to spend the night.
On September 12, the trio had travelled in a truck on way to Kashmir when they (terrorists) attacked a police check post near here in which a gardener of Sericulture department was injured i They fired upon the police near Sai Cafeteria near Daami Bridge along the Jammu- Srinagar national highway. After the incident they escaped into the nearby woods.
The arrest of the truck driver and a B Sc nursing student, Mohammed Iqbal, who impersonated as co driver of the truck, did reveal that Iqbal was in touch with the terrorists. He was entrusted with a job to escort the trio to Kashmir by Riyaz Ahmed.
They (driver and Iqbal) told their interrogators that they had successfully ferried over 20 terrorists on four or five different occasions earlier from Jammu to Kashmir.
Well informed sources said the arrested duo had struck a deal of rupees 50,000 to bring these three terrorists safely from Jammu to Kashmir. They reached Jammu on September 9 via Mughal Road and had picked up three terrorists near Dyalachak area on Wednesday morning. ...
