Security review meeting held at Handwara

Srinagar, September 24 (Scoop News)-A Security Review Meeting at the district level was held on 24 September 2018 in District Police Lines of Handwara town of Kupwara to review the overall security situation and to draw out the future security strategy. The Security Review was attended by Lt Gen AK Bhatt, GOC Chinar Corps, Mr Dilbagh Singh, DGP J&K, Maj Gen DP Pandey, GOC CIF(K), Mr Swayam Prakash Pani, IGP Kashmir, Brig DR Rai, Commander Rashtriya Rifles and several other Army & Police Officers.
The primary aim of the Review was to further strengthen the existing synergy among the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF and other security agencies. During the deliberations on the overall security situation, the plans to maintain a robust Counter Terrorist grid in the hinterland were discussed. The aspects of sharing of intelligence, joint planning, situational awareness and joint operation were deliberated upon. The local commanders also briefed on the current situation on ground, challenges being faced and the measures to be instituted to enhance efficacy of Counter Terrorist operations. The Chinar Corps Commander and DGP also emphasised on maintaining a high level of preparedness at all times to deal with the terrorist initiated incidents and highlighted on the combined efforts to effectively counter the disruptive.
