| Army organises Habibullah memorial cup-2018 | |
Srinagar, October 09 (Scoop News)- To honor Havildar Habibullah Qureshi, who made the supreme sacrifice in line of duty during the Sunjuwan attack on 10th February 2018, the Army organised the inaugural Havildar Habibullah Memorial Cup Football Tournament for the youth of Kupwara district. The Tournament which commenced on 17th September 2018 witnessed active participation of 16 teams from Panzgam, Riddi, Karalpura and Aloosa villages. After the knockout league matches, the finals were played between Reddi and Panzgam villages on 06th October 2018. Both the teams displayed great zeal and enthusiasm in the finale and the nail biting contest was eventually won by the skilled team from Reddi. The tournament, apart from honoring Havildar Habibullah Qureshi, was also successful in encouraging the youth of the region to showcase and hone their football skills.
