| Inauguration of chinar shopping complex (CSC) and tree plantation drive at BB cantt | | Srinagar, November 17 ((Scoop News)-Lt Gen AK Bhatt, GOC, Chinar Corps inaugurated the renovated Chinar Shopping Complex (CSC) at Badami Bagh (BB) Cantonment, Srinagar today and dedicated it to the troops and their families.
The CSC has a history of over 50 years wherein it has been meeting the daily requirements of all ranks and their families at BB Cantt. In time, it has withstood major calamities like Floods, Earthquake and Fire and was in urgent requirement of a complete makeover. This onerous task was undertaken by HQ 31 Sub Area wherein extensive and complete renovation of this Complex was carried out in a record time with improved amenities.
A massive tree plantation drive with an aim to preserve the environment and give back to the nature was also launched at BB Cantt. The event began by planting of four Chinar Trees, one each by the Chinar Corps Commander, Chief of Staff Chinar Corps, GOC 31 Sub Area and Station Commander, BB Cantt. Over 3000 trees of various evergreen varieties were planted by troops and their families across BB Cantt.
