Governor congratulates Sahitya Akademi Award winners
Jammu, December 06 ((Scoop News)-Governor Satya Pal Malik has congratulated Sh. Inderjeet Kesar and Sh. Mushtaq Ahmad Mushtaq on being conferred with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Annual Awards for 2018.
Sh. Kesar has received the Award for his Dogri novel “ Bhagirath” while Sh. Mushtaq has got the Award for his collection of short stories “Aakh” in Kashmiri language.

Governor has greeted the winners and wished them continuing successes in all their future endeavours.

Inderjeet Kesar’s “Bhagirath” is among the six Novels, which have been finally selected for the Sahitya Academy Award this year. The Novel was published last year and widely appreciated in the literary circles.

Mr Kesar, who retired from the Secretariat Service in 2004 as Deputy Secretary, has so far written 21 books, including six Novels, two short stories, 11 poetry collections, an Essay and one Bhaint collection.

-Kashmiri writer and broadcaster, Mushtaq Ahmad Mushtaq, has bagged the prestigious Sahitya Akademi award for literature in Kashmiri language.


Mushtaq was given this year's award for his collection of short stories titled 'Aakh'.
'Aakh' is a collection of 18 short stories that was chosen from the 13 books in Kashmiri language.
The writer is presently posted as head of the regional news unit at Radio Kashmir Srinagar.
He has served in Doordarshan news unit at Srinagar Kendra for nine years apart from having worked in other media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as an Indian Information Service (IIS) officer.
