RBD and BRM activists jeer at PDP lawmaker, raise slogans against his recent remarks on people of Jammu

Jammu, December 15, (Scoop News)-Activists of right wing Rashtriya Bajrang Dal (RBD) and Bharat Raksha Manch (BRM) heckled and raised slogans against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Firdous Ahmed Tak, for his alleged recent inflammatory remarks about the people of Jammu.

Tak who was scheduled to address a press conference on Friday had to be escorted to Press Club of Jammu by a posse of police where the activists of RBJ and BRM had assembled. They alleged that Tak had made some offensive language against the people of Jammu during a public rally in Kishtiwar that had gone viral on social media.

Soon after alighting his vehicle, Tak was encircled by the activists who raised slogans like Go back Tak go back, Jammu kay jottay maro, Desh kay gadaroo ko goli maro. However, the police deployed on the spot as well personal security officials intervened and rescued him.

“For protection of the people, the security forces can set up bunkers in any part of the country including Kishtwar but Tak has opposed the move. He also used a filthy language against the people of Jammu,” alleged activists of BRM.

During his interaction with media, PDP lawmaker said that by deploying Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel and setting up more bunkers in Kishtwar, after the killing of Parihar brothers by unidentified gunmen, the authorities are adding fuel to the fire by targeting members of a particular community under the garb of carrying investigations into the killings.

He urged the police to refrain from harassing the people belonging to a particular community in the name of conducting investigation.

He expressed fears of another communal violence in Kishtiwar before the upcoming assembly elections and appealed to the people to remain vigilant of anti social elements. Tak warned both Central and the state governments not to test the patience of peace loving people.

Tak said after the killing of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader, Anil Parihar and his brother, Ajit Parihar on November 1, both the communities not only condemned the incident but also held protests against it. The people sought quick arrest of the killers.

“Every resident of Chenab Valley shared the pain of Parihar family who lost two members. But after that unfortunate incident, the police started harassing people of a particular community,” he added.

On November 22, a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) descended on the town to assist the police and picked up to 150 people for questioning, he said. Surprisingly, the Governor, Satya pal Malik had announced on November 5 that the killer had been identified and will be brought to book soon, Tak said. He alleged that illegal confinement of youth and crackdown are leading to alienation and needs to be contained at the earliest.

He said the area was declared militancy free zone over a decade and half ago, however, killings continue to take place. Tak said we knew who is trying to gain from militancy and counter insurgency. He termed the BJP as cancer for the state and said the saffron brigade is trying its best to disrupt peace in Kishtwar for petty political gains.

Tak raised couple of questions and asked why the identity of the killers is not made public, was false information shared with the Governor or authorities trying to cover it up.

He said over 45 days have passed since the incident took place, the police and NIA have yet to crack the case and demanded a speedy investigation into the case. “People of Kishtwar are cooperating with the investigation agencies,” Tak said.

He also opposed the move of redeployment of SOG of police in Kishtwar and raising forces bunkers there....
