Give property rights to Local Allottee and refugees on custodian land: Congress

Vijaypur, December 15 (Scoop News)- Former Minister and District President, Samba, Manjit Singh on Saturday appealed Governor Satya Paul Malik to give ownership rights to local allottee and refugees staying on Custodian properties from last seven decades.
Former Minister was speaking at village Nanga in Ramgarh along the International Border where people are living a miserable life without proper facilities.
“Two or three generations have spent their lives on the property, they don’t have right on. Those who have gone and settled in Pakistan will never return. And, the status of property under local allottee and refugees should be changed and they should be given property right in their possession,” said Manjit Singh.
Singh said that large numbers of families have been suffering due to no property rights on the land. “Governor Satya Paul Malik can take a lead and convert the property rights in favour of local allottee and refugees,” said Manjit Singh, who was speaking before families of local allotted and refugees.
These local allottee and refugees also highlighted problems being faced by them in their area and the unemployment among the youth. “The Government should send a delegation on the ground zero to take assessment from International Border and meet the families so that proper report is filed on the condition of their lives, standard of education and health issues,” said Manjit Singh.
There is a need to give reservation to the residents of International Border so that their children can also compete in education and could get Government jobs. “These children suffer when Pakistan open fire across the border and target their houses. These people have to flee for weeks abandoning their houses for safety. Hence, their education also suffers more,” he said.
He appealed that there is lack of infrastructure in border villages and there is a need of proper hygiene.
