| CRPF troops averted a major fire incident | |
Jammu, January 08 (Scoop News)- The alertness and activeness of CRPF troops deployed at Jammu)-
airport averted a major incident of fire. On the intervening night of 7 and 8 Jan 2018, an electric cable in Petrol pump adjacent to airport caught fire. In the no time, it converted into flames and area was engulfed in smoke coming out. Troops of 166 Bn CRPF deployed at airport and patrolling in the area shouted 'fire-fire' to alert others. The petrol pump staff present there tried to douse the fire but in vain. CRPF troops immediately called fire tender and simultaneously tried to douse the fire with the resources available. The alertness, reaction and courage of CRPF troops averted the spreading of fire as generator set and other inflammable material was also lying near the spot. The incident which could have resulted in a major accident was suppressed at its initial stage by CRPF troops.
