| Avny Lavasa for strict implementation on election model code of conduct | | 
Leh,March 11 (Scoop News)-In view of imposing the model code of conduct for General Lok Sabha elections, the Deputy Commissioner, Leh Avny Lavasa who is also the District Election Officer, Leh has convened a meeting of all the Election Nodal Officers and district officers today and urged them to strictly maintain the dignity of election process by upholding their own conduct. She cautioned that not a single Govt. official should involve in any political activities and said that in case of finding even a small indication about the involvement of any Govt. officer or their subordinate in politically motivated activities, they will be severely dealt with disciplinary action. DC urged upon the HoDs especially the local officers to abstain from such activity which may blemish the image of election institution. She further urged upon the officers to go through the guidelines of model code of conduct and firmly follow the rules leaving no room for any compliant.
Lavasa told that Election Commission of India has announced holding of Lok Sabha elections for Ladakh parliamentary constituency on 6th May under 5th phase of polling and added that counting shall take place on 23rd May with all over India.
Other general issues regarding present state of election preparations and arrangements in Leh district such as continuous updation, EPIC status, manpower, schedule of training programme, material managements, transportation plan, requirement of helicopters, provision of Assured Minimum Facilities at polling booths, setting up of MCMC etc. was also discussed in the meeting.
