FLC and mock poll for political parties held at Leh

Leh, March 15 (Scoop News)-With the arrival of additional Electronic Voting Machines and VV PATs for the ensuing general Lok Sabha elections, the District Election Authority, Leh has conducted First Level Checking (FLC) through six Engineers of Bharat Electronic Ltd. Bangalore under the supervision of Dy. District Election Officer, Leh Abdul Gafur Zargar at Conference Hall near Deputy Commissioner, office Leh. Mock polling programme was also organized today for the political parties. Representatives of various political parties took part in the mock poll which was done through randomly selected EVMs. The working of the ballot units, control units and the functioning of VVPATs that generates a slip that displays for seven seconds as to whom the vote has actually been cast were demonstrated on the occasion.
The Nodal Officers EVM, Mohd Ayub and Thinless Dawa told that 10% of the EVMs have been used today for mock polling, in which 1,200 votes per EVM were polled as part of the verifying exercise.
It was further told that total 384 EVMs including 25% reserved EVMs shall be used for polling at 294 polling stations in Leh district during the upcoming general elections to the Lok Sabha.
