| Thupstan to work tenaciously for UT cause, enormous people’s support available | | terms electoral politics as a distraction |
Leh(Ladakh), March 21, (Scoop News)-Former Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) lawmaker, Thupstan Chewwang, has declared that his emphasis will be to seek Union Territory (UT) status for the region.
Being among couple of top Buddhist leaders who are deeply involved with the cause since 1990, Thupstan informed that he would be working with dedication for achieving the target for the benefit and welfare of the people for entire Ladakh.
He asserted that he would do his best to ensure the UT status for the Ladakh region. While referring to recent mega rally brought out is support of the issue, former lawmaker said there is already an ominous support for the demand and he would not hesitate to play his role in this regard.
He said that he belongs to the place and was familiar with sentimental bond and the resilience people share here with each other and this would go a long way to the advantage of the country.
Thupstan said he would also persuade the people of Kargil to join the movement for the sake of ethnic affinity and affirmed that he would work tenaciously for the cause as a humble citizen.
He resigned from the basic membership of the party and parliament last year, Thupstan termed electoral politics as a distraction and has decided to stay away from it for time being. ... |
