BJP delegation visit Kishtwar, meets prominent locals, social groups
Locals demand to strengthen VDCs, deployment of Army, SOG, JAKLI




Kishtwar, May -21 (Scoop News)- J&K BJP delegation, comprising of senior party leaders, visited Kishtwar town to meet prominent locals and key social groups to promote peace and confidence-building measures among the masses in Kishtwar.

BJP delegation was led by Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas and comprised of BJP State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, State General Secretary Dr. Narinder Singh, State General Secretary & former Minister Sunil Sharma, former Minister Shakti Parihar and other party senior leaders.

The BJP delegation met with the local BJP leaders after which they also met with several vital groups like traders’ associations, members of civil society, intellectuals and other prominent members of society.

The BJP delegation was apprised of the volatile situation by prominent locals and social groups that has been ignited by the recent turbulence caused in the region. All of them raised demand for a thorough probe of the whole unfortunate incident that gave rise to the widespread unrest in the whole district, while they voiced their concern over the fear among minority after the selective killings in belt and asked for taking effective steps to give befitting reply to all anti-National and anti-social elements.

Locals raised the demand for the strengthening of local defense systems along with the deployment of forces to ensure the upkeep of normalcy in the region, by the effective neutralization of threats posed by anti-National and anti-social elements. Deployment of Army Battalions and special forces like CRPF, JAKLI and SOG in the region were thrust before the delegation in the visit. Need for the bunkers in the threat prone areas was also emphasized before the delegation while strengthening the VDCs (Village Defence Committees) in the region. Prominent citizens and social groups also stressed the local recruitment in the SPOs for the restoration of confidence among the locals.

Shamsher Singh Manhas, assured the locals that all of their demands will be duly taken care of including the fast-tracking of all tragic incidents leading to a loss of confidence among the local populace. He said that the perpetrators of the violence will not be spared at any cost and nobody will be allowed to take undue advantage of the hypercritical situation that has emerged after the ugly turn of events. He also assured the locals that whole of the incident in the Bhaderwah town will be thoroughly probed to nab real culprits taking prompt action against those who have tried to take demonic benefit of the unfortunate incident by giving rise to tension between communities.

Ashok Kaul, requested the locals to keep their nerves and assured them that whole of the Nation stands by their side in the present hour of stress and every measure will be taken to protect their lives as well as properties. He reassured them that the BJP will present all their issues before the police and civil administration at every level for prompt action. He requested all the key members of the society to play a positive role in the turn of events for the greater good of society.

Dr. Narinder Singh, said that all measures will be taken to ensure confidence between various communities and effective steps will be taken for neutralizing any type of threat posed by terrorists or their sympathizers.
