Fire & Fury Corps reaches out to differently abled persons in Ladakh region


Leh/Srinagar,June 10 (Scoop News)- In keeping with the symbiotic relationship and deep emotional bond that the Indian Army and people of Ladakh region share, the Leh based Fire & Fury Corps, in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti of Jaipur and the Mumbai based Crest Ventures Limited organised a special event at Leh in which over 200 aids of various types were distributed to differently abled persons of Ladakh region. These aids will empower the recipients and will assist them to live their lives with more dignity and confidence.

Christened “A Helping Hand with Care & Support”, the noble event was organised by the Fire & Fury Corps in the “Year of the NOK”, when the nation is also celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Presiding over the function, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command appreciated this joint effort between the Fire & Fury Corps, Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti and Crest Ventures Limited, which will benefit so many differently abled persons of Ladakh region. He complimented Lt Gen YK Joshi, Fire & Fury Corps Commander for the efforts put in to identify the differently abled persons in Ladakh region requiring such assistance and then arranging for them to be here today to benefit from the initiative. Lt Gen Ranbir Singh also said that there could not have been a better way to pay homage to the gallant martyrs of Operation VIJAY than through this noble gesture. He reiterated the commitment of Northern Command and Fire & Fury Corps to work hand in hand for the development of Ladakh region, as well as for the well-being of the people of the area.


Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command and Mrs Kalpana Singh Dhatt, Regional President, AWWA Northern Command thereafter informally interacted with the recipients accompanied by Lt Gen YK Joshi, GOC Fire & Fury Corps and Mrs Ina Joshi, Zonal President AWWA, Fire & Fury Corps. A mixture of happiness and gratitude was written large on the faces of the recipients, some of whom were overcome by emotions that there was someone to think and care about them, beyond their family. The aids distributed included 75 wheel chairs, 30 walkers, 30 crutches, 70 walking sticks, 80 hearing aids, 54 dark glasses and 15 Knee Pads.
