MHA report indicates drop in infiltration, recruitment of local yout
recovery in security situation and increase in elimination of terrorists in terrorist incidents in JK after Feb 27 airstrike, 37 reportedly infiltrated since operation Balakote


Jammu, July 10, (Scoop News)-The security situation in roiled Jammu and Kashmir has registered an upswing recovery and the net infiltration from across the border has declined by over 43 percent after Balakote operation in Pakistan, said a MHA report.

The report suggested that terrorist incidents in the state has registered a shrink of 28 percent, decline of recruitment of the local youth by 40 percent and the liquidation of terrorists has increased by 22 percent. 93 terrorists had been killed since Pulwama incident.

Well informed sources, requesting not to be named, however, claimed that as many as 37 well trained terrorists have succeeded in sneaking into this side of the state from Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir after February 27 airstrike on a terrorist den at Balakote.

“Some of them had managed to cross over into the state from the International Border (IB) and others had managed to sneak into the Valley from the Line of Control (LoC),” they added.

The sources said the standard scale of measuring the infiltration is that one- third of it is detected and thwarted while two- third of it manages to sneak in safely.

“Majority (approximately 25) of them have replenished the dwindling cadres of the terrorists in south Kashmir while others have taken their positions in north and central districts of the Valley,” they claimed.

The MHA reports suggests that Central government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards cross border infiltration and it is multipronged approach to prevent cross border ingress including pro active action against infiltrators, improved intelligence input, and operational coordination. ...
