Motorised wheelchairs provided to disable persons free of cost

Srinagar,July 10 (Scoop News)-Humanity welfare organisation Helpline in collaboration with TATA relief committee Mumbai held free distribution of motorised wheelchairs at zaiba Aapa Institute Eidgah Bijbehara. Nine motorised wheelchair were distributed among the students and youth facing severe locomotor disabilities. Manzoor Ahmad wani Manager cum chemist from Horticulture processing institute Achabal anantnag was the chief guest on the occasion. The persons with severe disabilities unable to move walk or run belonging to flood affected areas of kulgam Anantnag and pulwama were given free motorised or battery operated wheelchairs. Asif Mushtaq Reeshi programme consultant gave oveall demonstration on operational part of the wheelchair. He practically demonstrated how the wheelchairs can be detached and carried to different places in the vehicles.
Manzoor Ahmad wani gave away the wheelchairs and talked to benificaries.
Chairman Humanity welfare organisation Helpline Bijbehara Javed Ahmad Tak while welcoming guests and benificaries said the disability is not inability but a challenge for persons with disabilities to prove their abilities. We all should remain steadfast to defeat disability and prove our abilities. Any government or nongovernmental organisation is not any way giving the baggary but it is duty of all the individuals, organisations and stake holders to work on collective basis to empower persons with disabilities. He advised benificaries to use the motorised wheelchairs judiciously and take efforts to make themselves independent to live with decency.
Chief guest on the occassion Manzoor Ahmad wani after providing wheelchairs said that persons with disabilities are part and parcel of the society. In order to make them the contributory part we all stake holders parents and community as a whole to hand hold the persons and provide them all required assistive and supportive devices and link them to educational institutions and thereafter ensure their employability. He assured that through horticulture preservation and processing trainings he will link all motivated persons with disabilities with the scheme of income generation so that persons with disabilities could become self reliant and live a healthy lives. He thanked TATA relief committee Mumbai for extending support to deserving persons with disabilities belonging to poorest of poor families and providing them expensive motorised wheelchairs to gain easy mobility. He applauded the efforts of HumanityWelfare Helpline under leadership of Javed Ahmad Tak for helping out the needy persons with disabilities.
Urwashi parray consultant 2 of TATArelief committee gave the vote of thanks. She suggested the benificaries to work hard to make themselves more independent.
