| CEC Ladakh calls on Lt Governor | |
Leh, March 23 (Scoop News)-The Chairman/ Chief Executive Counicllor LAHDC Leh Gyal P. Wangyal along with Dy. Chairman LAHDC Leh Tsering Sandup today called on LG Ladakh R.K Mathur and requested for airlifting of stranded passengers from Iran at earliest and airlifting of stranded students/passengers of Leh district, who are stranded in various cities of India due to COVID-19 pandemic. Chairman also discussed about the measures taken by UT Administration and District Administration LAHDC Leh for containment of COVID 19 in Leh District.
Chairman also request for initiatives from the UT Administration for providing free health insurance to all the residents of UT Ladakh in line with UT of J&K, as it has recently accorded sanction to rolling out the Jammu & Kashmir Health Scheme to provide free of cost Universal Health Coverage to all residents of the Union Territory in convergence with Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY.
Chairman apprised Lt Governor that, in Ladakh on account of not having any higher medical facility and lack of health insurance coverage, the general public and mostly poor are facing severe difficulty in arranging their treatment outside Ladakh. They have to ask for donations for undergoing higher treatment.
Chairman also thanked the Lt Governor for his much needed intervention for airlifting of stranded passengers from Iran to India earlier.
