1 person tests positive in Ladakh
Was already under institutional quarantine


Leh, May 21 (Scoop News)-According to the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services UT Ladakh regarding the daily report on Public Health measures taken for COVID-19 infection prevention and control, one person has been tested positive for COVID-19.

Yesterday, the Health Department Leh received 147 sample reports with one positive report of an Iran returnee of Chuchot Yokma. He was already placed under Institutional (Hotel) quarantine after reaching Leh and on receiving of the report he was shifted to the Mahabodhi COVID-19 Hospital for isolation, reports the bulletin. His condition reports stable.
Rest of the sample reports were negative among which 138 are of Leh district and 8 of Kargil district.

Today, a total of 333 samples were sent to NCDC New Delhi for testing out of this 187 samples are of Leh and 146 samples are of Kargil district.

The media bulletin further reports that a team led by Surveillance Officer Magistrate, Block Medical Officers of Kargil district conducted a surprise visit to the villages with people under home quarantine. The team found the villagers following the home quarantine guidelines.

Yesterday 408 evacuees reached Khaltsi check post and reached Leh in 16 buses and one tempo traveller. All the passengers were screened and vehicles were sanitised.

While two oil tankers that reached Leh yesterday via Manali road was also sanitised and the drivers and helpers were screened.

The COVID-19 sampling team of Kargil district collected swab samples from persons coming from Red-Zones. And 84 inmates from quarantine facility (Hotel) of Kargil district have been discharged after completing 14 days quarantine and advised for further home surveillance.
