| 5 more cases of COVID-19 in Ladakh | |
Leh,May 23 (Scoop News)- Test samples of five people of Kargil district reports positive for COVID-19. The Health Department Leh received two positive reports of Iran returnees yesterday who were already placed under facility quarantine at Kargil. While today, three positive reports were received among which two are Iran returnees and one is a student who had travelled by bus from Delhi to Kargil and was kept in hospital isolation. This is reported in the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Service Ladakh informed that Health Department Leh today.
With this, Ladakh has six active cases with one in Leh and five in Kargil district.
The Health Department Leh received 337 sample reports, out of these, five sample reports tested positive for COVID-19, and 324 sample reports of Kargil district and 08 samples reports of Leh district tested negative. And today 222 samples were sent to NCDC New Delhi for testing. Out of these 88 samples are of Leh district and 136 samples are of Kargil district.
A team led by Surveillance Officer Magistrate Kargil, visited various places of the Kargil district where the people coming from Red zones and Orange zones were kept.
Block Medical Officer Kargil paid a surprise visit to villages of Kargil block where people are under home quarantine and found that the villagers were following the home quarantine guidelines.
21 passengers reached Khaltsi yesterday in a tempo traveller and some private vehicles. Passengers were screened and vehicles were sanitized.
Nine passengers reached Leh yesterday in three private vehicles at Upshi check -post. The drivers were screened and vehicles were sanitized.
