International online Art Exhibition dedicated to Corona Warriors concludes


Jammu, June 30 (Scoop News)- An International online Art Exhibition dedicated to the Corona Warriors, which was organized by Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu on 21st June, 2020, concluded on 30th June, 2020. Keeping in tune with the crisis of Covid- 19 Pandemic, International Art Exhibition was put online. The art works of eighty five artists from eighteen ststes of the country and abroad were displayed in the exhibition inaugurated online on 21st June, 2020.
Sh. O P Sharma, curator of the exhibition & Director JKCCA said that the normal life has been restricted due to corona virus spread all over the world. So, ithe alternative of holding Online Art Exhibition to keep the art activity going on was adopted. He further added that the response of the exhibition has been overwhelming. The tremendous response has encouraged the organizers to do more such evemts in the future also. He declared that JKCCA would hold online Art Exhibitions of paintings of Sh. V S Rahi, a veteran painter from New Delhi & Fouder Advisor of JKCCA, on 9th July, 2020, an International Art Exhibition dedicated to Smt. Gobind Kaur, 1st Woman Sculptor of Jammu & Kashmir, on 11th July, 2020 and an All India Exhibition of paintings, dedicated to Prof. Nilamber Dev Sharma, former Secretary and Vice- President of J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages & doyen of English and Dogri languages, during the last week of September, 2020. He announced that a virtual All india Painters Camp would be conducted anduring the second week of October, 2020.
The prominent artists of the country whose works were displayed in the exhibition included V S Rahi, N D Jamwal, Gokel Dembi, T S Batra, Jang S. Verman, Prabhinder Lall, K S Gill, Dr. A K Dixit, Dr. Mamta Singh, O P Sharma and others. The artists from abraod included Freha Zeba from Dhaka, Bangladesh, Dora Labora, New York, USA and Keyla Hannani Morel, Yeimi Chirinos, Ninoska Velasquez from Honduras, Central America.
Artists from Jammu & Kashmir whose works were displayed in the exhibition included Ashok Mehra, Kamalnain Bhan, Ganesh Kumar Sharma, Mohd. Akram Khan, Subash Anand, Aslam Naqishbandi, Humayun Qaisar, Rouf Qyasi, Tariq Saifi, Kaunain Zubair, Deepa Soni, Mohd Sayeed Telli, Sheikh Ghulam, Ifitikhar Wani, Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, Amrit Kaur, Payal Chadha and Megha Khajuria.
Pt. Kewal K Sharma, President, JKCCA, who has been an inspiration in organizing art & cultural events of JKCCA, has congratulated all the artists for their contribution for the encouragement of Corona Warriors.
The Exhibition was conceived & curated by O P Sharma, Eminent Artist & Director Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts, Jammu who is also the founder Director of the Centre and has been working for the last 20 years in the field of Art & Culture.
