Congress questions Govt. over the issue of Prof. Soz

Jammu, July 31 (Scoop News)-The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has termed all sorts of restrictions on the movement of Former Union Minister and veteran leader Prof. Saifuddin Soz (EX-President JKPCC) as totally illegal and arbitrary and against all norms of democracy.

Terming the Govt. claims to the contrary, as totally false and misleading, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Mr. Ravinder Sharma has said that the continued restrictions on Prof. Soz, even after the reply of the Govt. in the Supreme Court denying the same, is very unfortunate chapter in the glorious history of democracy. It was never heard of in the past that the govt. would deny any restrictions on him in the apex court of the country but the second day, he would not be allowed to move out by the police and detained inside his house, in full public view, without any fear of law. It is highly regrettable and serious matter that Govt. can play with civil liberties of the citizens that too of a person of the stature of Prof. Soz, who served as Member Parliament for over three decades including twice Union Minister.

The party demanded immediate release of Prof. Soz from all sorts of detentions and restrictions, since he is a very law abiding citizens of the Country and a main stream leader of vast knowledge and played an important positive role in the politics of the Country.
