DSEJ‘s weekly activities under Mission Fitindia concludes

Jammu, September 14 (Scoop News)-Directorate of School Education Jammu celebrated Foundation Day for Mission Fitindia- 2020 by organising various weekly activities in schools of Jammu Division on the theme "Fitness @ home with Family."
The Directorate has also launched a 3 months online Yoga Training Programme for registered teachers and students of government schools to mark the Foundation day of Mission Fitindia.
Various activities on fitness for all age group of students (pre- primary to 12 class) like fitness awareness sessions, fitness pledge, dance fitness programmes 1 KM home walkathon in lawns/ rooftops, rope skipping, spot cycling, Gymnastics, pushups, Yoga, indoor & outdoor fitness & many more were conducted in all the Government & Private schools in Jammu Division.
Various Competitions on Fitness/ Yoga were also announced for students from Pre-Primary to class 12 & they participated enthusiastically. The students posted videos of performing dance, Yoga at Home with family members & Fitness Pledge.
Three best shining star students and 3 best shining star schools at districts level will be given awards on the opening of schools.
Three month online Yoga Training programme for registered teachers & students of the Government schools organised by Directorate of School Education Jammu, was inaugurated and launched by Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta on August, 29, 2020.
A webinar for the inaugural session for the online yoga training programme was organised by DSEJ, It was Live streamed on Facebook page of Counselling Cell DSEJ & other social sites by thousands of students, parents, teaching/ non-teaching staff across the length & breath of all the 10 districts of Jammu Division.
Pertinent to mention here that Directorate of School Education Jammu was the first to present the 45 page plan of FIT India Movement to Government to promote Yoga among the teachers. In 2019, 10 day summer Yoga camps were also organised in collaboration with BYS, J&K in which 800 students and 300 teachers were trained.
The programme was coordinated by Govind Sharma Divisional Nodal Officer for Fit India Movement at DSEJ. Online Fitness Pledge to the students/officials/officers was presented by Dr. Surinder Kumar Sharma, Nodal Officer DSEJ online home assignments.
Dr. Romesh Sharma, Head counselling cell DSEJ, anchored the function with many thoughtful suggestions. Technical support was provided by Sohail Wani of IT Cell, DSEJ. The vote of thanks was also presented by Govind Sharma.
