Arrangements for 8 Phase polling finalized Budgam
Budgam, November 22 (Scoop News)- A meeting was convened here today to finalise arrangements for 8 phase election schedule for ensuing District Development Council (DDC), for Panchayat and ULB by-elections at Budgam.
The meeting was convened under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Budgam, Dr. Nasir Ahmad, who is also the Nodal officer Elections.
While giving a brief about the arrangements, the Nodal Officer said that special arrangements have been made to facilitate all the employees engaged with COVID duties to cast their vote within 48 hours after the withdrawal date ends.
He said, similarly positive COVID patients can also cast their ballots at their prescribed locations without visiting polling stations.
Dr. Nasir further said that arrangements have also been made to dispatch men and material to the designated locations besides, all facilities including heating arrangement, uninterrupted power and water supply at all polling stations has already been ensured.
He said to prevent transmission of virus, the polling staff shall be provided PPE kits and sanitisers besides, the infrared thermometer facility shall also be available at all polling booths so that every individual including staff and voters are scanned for fever before their entry to the restricted area.
The Nodal Officer said that every concerned BDO and RO has been directed to keep close liaison with other line departments to ensure disposal of all requisite individual responsibilities.
The meeting among others was attended by Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Deputy District Election Officer, Ex. Engineer PDD, all BDOs, designated ROs, AROs and other concerned.
