| DC G'bl warns against illegal extraction of minerals | | Ganderbal,November 22 (Scoop News)- The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired a meeting of line departments to discuss the measures for curbing the menace of illegal extraction of Minerals in the district.
The DC exhorted upon all the concerned to constitute a team comprising of officials from all line departments and make comprehensive strategy to curb illegal extraction of minerals from River Sindh and other Nallahs.
He asked the SSP to seize all such machinery and vehicles and lodge FIR against the culprits under relevant laws who are involved in illegal extraction.
The Tehsildars were also directed to take requisite measures in their respective jurisdiction to curb the illegal extraction of minerals and book all such unscrupulous persons under relevant laws.
The DC also warned such persons of serious punishment as per law who are found involved in illegal extraction of minerals and appealed people of the district to bring into the notice of District Administration about those people involved in illegal extraction of minerals.
The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmed Baba, Executive Engineer I&FC, District Mineral Officer, AD Fisheries, Tehsildars and other concerned.
