KPSS restarts ‘Fast-Unto-Death’ in Kashmir,Enters 4th Day

Srinagar, November 25 (Scoop News)- The fast-unto-death by the chief of Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti (KPSS) Sanjay Tickoo and other members have started the second phase of “Fast-Unto-Death” in Srinagar Kashmir which entered the fourth day on Wednesday with demands by people from the community living in the valley to provide them jobs under central government employment package apart from relief and accommodation to non-migrant Kashmiri Hindus.

A statement issued by KPSS said on Wednesday said that the Kashmiri Pandit Sangharsh Samiti (KPSS) has started the second phase of “Fast-Unto-Death” in Srinagar Kashmir to press for the implementation of the assurances given to them by the Jammu and Kashmir administration on September 30.

As per the statement, since June 2020, hundreds of communications have been sent to the J&K administration to implement the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding jobs in favour of non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindus living in the Valley.
“On August 27, 2020, a delegation of KPSS met the Lieutenant Governor at the Raj Bhawan in Srinagar and submitted a detailed memorandum along with copies of recommendations of MHA and the orders passed by the high court in favour of non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindus living in the Valley. The LG assured the delegation that the demands would be taken up on priority as those related to the very survival of the 808 nonmigrant Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu families living in the Kashmir valley,” the statement said.
As per the statement KPSS feel cheated and back stabbed by the Administration of UT for not adhering to their own promises and commitments that were expressively and verbally conveyed to us during the First phase of Fast-Unto-Death Pledge. On 30th September, 2020, KPSS called off Fast-Unto-Death Pledge when Worthy Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Shri. Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary, IAS on behalf of Administration assured in writing that the Charter of Demands will be discussed in a logical way and all the directions of the Hon’ble High Court read with Parliamentary Standing Committees recommendations and directions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Union of India will be implemented on the ground zero to mitigate the long pending issues of the Non-Migrant Kashmiri Pandits / Kashmiri Hindus living in Kashmir Valley. Though worthy Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar tried his best to arrange and organize meetings but the authorities behaved autocratic way and used all the bureaucratic stunts and excuses to avoid the meetings which could have resulted in logical solutions to the issues which need to be resolved as per the directions and recommendations issued from time to time in favour of Non-Migrant miniscule religious minority of Kashmir Valley.
It seems that people who are at and vested interest groups who don't wish the existence of “Miniscule Minority helm of Administration in the UT of JK are a pawn in the hands of local political goons Community” who stayed back in Kashmir Valley despite armed insurgency and political turmoil and are creating situation adverse for our survival and staying back in Kashmir Valley. Though Hon’ble Prime Minister claims that his government stands for “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” [Together, for everyone's growth, with everyone's trust] but due to the step-motherly treatment from the UT Administration it seems that this phrase excludes Non-Migrant Kashmiri Pandits / Kashmiri Hindus living in Kashmir Valley. Though ruling party workers are presently trying to woo people to vote for them in District Development Council Elections but the nationalist who always stood for the integrity of Country are denied survival despite directions and recommendations from the higher authorities forcing KPSS President Shri. Sanjay K. Tickoo and Youth Activist Shri. Sandeep Koul to go for the second phase of Fast-Unto-Death pledge.
