| Commissioner/ Secretary Civil Aviation Ladakh convenes meetings to provide Cargo facilities during winters | |
Leh (Ladakh), November 25 (Scoop News)- In order to discuss measures aimed to provide Cargo facilities during winters by operating a special Cargo freighter/ flight in Ladakh, Commissioner/ Secretary Civil Aviation Ladakh, Rigzin Samphel called a meeting which was attended by Administrative Secretary, Cooperatives Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar and Officers from Finance Department.
During the course of the meeting, discussion was held to chalk out a detailed plan to airlift essential commodities during winters through special Cargo freighter/ flight as per the tentative requirement worked out and projected by the Department of Cooperatives, UT Ladakh. Two sorties each of Cargo flight needs to be operated on a weekly basis for both the districts of Leh and Kargil. The Department of Civil Aviation in consultation with the Finance Department shall immediately exercise on the cost aspects of the operation of the flight and subsidy component based on the Cooperative Department’s inputs so that it shall be submitted to the Competent Authority of the UT Administration of Ladakh for perusal and consideration.
Various other aspects such as procurement of fresh vegetables and its proper distribution through cooperative societies in various regions of UT Ladakh were discussed, besides identifying sale centers, establishing a control room to coordinate with stakeholders including utilization of the newly constructed cold storage were also discussed during the meeting.
